There is no "Between the Lines" on This One

There was no doubt as he watched
Her mind was in the past
Waiting days through summer
That seemed so long to last

His words brought on the thin wedge
That thickened over time
Her hurt built up the high hedge
That filled their world with grime

I work so hard to act kind
While your work cuts me deep
It’s harder than I thought to mind
Not what your words speak

I know that you love me
And that seems enough for now
But love is so like the sea
Splitting for every ship’s bow

You care so much more
Than I thought you ever would
I feel better knowing for sure
That your life turning for good

and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night
