Your words keep me Whole

I wish I could explain
But there’s something in me
That refuses to create
What I need formed into words

I’m so afraid- it’s unreasonable
I don’t understand how to say
That I need your love so desperately
And yet I grimace at my selfishness

How do you explain your story
To the quiet boy in the wings of your life
And how do you tell him
Of your love for another

How do you let the one you love
See through your sturdy defenses
When you wish they wouldn’t
See the pain in your eyes

What do you say,
When your poor descriptions
Of nightmares gone past
Don’t really say anything

I wish you knew
How much I needed your smile today
The soft look in you eyes
When you figured me out

What I’m trying to say is
I love you, I need you
More than the sun or the stars
Your words keep me whole

and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night

Haha, yes! I'm the first to comment! Hmmm... While I was reading through, I noticed that your poem seemed a little bit different than your previous poems. Personally, I liked this different style and tone of writing. Keep it up!
