Wordly Love

Dear, you’ve fallen in love
The object of your affection
Is the words that spill from my pen
Echoing your mind’s blank attention

So- you’ve fallen in love
With a phrase and a few well-worded lines
I hope that you realize soon
That you’re due to pay my fines

Well- you’re in love
Caught up in the beauty I create
But do you care for she who rendered
You speechless? Darling contemplate . . .

Love- you’re knee-deep in love
But it’s with my words- not me
Are you ready to face that words
Aren’t the only things to see

Wait to fall out of love
For while words are immortal
Mortals don’t exist forever
Death may be your love’s exit portal

Dear, you’ve fallen in love
And into a pool of inner deception
Maybe your love will be your revival
Words outfitted with utter ineption

and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night
