i listen to what you say, but all i hear is lies, a repeat of every argument, and the child inside of me hides. the very bravest part of me, prepares to enter the battle, i push aside emotions, put away my blanket and rattle. at five i was naive and young, i believed all you said was true, at nine i was beginning to learn, the best way in which to restrain you. by twelve i began to give up, learned how to hide the tears, by fourteen i was growing fast, and so were my fears. when i then hit fifteen, a switch inside me went snap, i started to rebel against you, refused to take you crap. now I'm here with my sixteen years, I've learned i can't control the alcohol, so I'll enjoy being a child now, stop trying to play the parents role. so eleven years down the line, I'm still naieve and young, I guess I'm more mature than most, But you will never stop my fun. Expect nothing, Prepare for anything. |
