You are a Liar

You are a liar,
And the only thing I hate more
Would be Lucifer and his servants
Knocking upon my door

You are deceitful
Every word a ploy and plot
If I weren’t a Christian woman
I sentence you death by rot

You are a traitor
A banishment, a shame
A betrayer to the pure in heart
A murderer in name

You are a hateful,
Spiteful, crushing king
King of all who answer
To the sound of killing’s ring

You are a man
And yet you seek not to overcome
The wickedness inside you
That lures you like heavy rum

You are a wounder
Of feelings that are mine
Someone who is threatening
All I am that is divine

Lucetta:
"I have no other but a woman's reason:
I think him so, because I think him so."

The Two Gentlemen of Verona (I, ii, 23-24
