A comforting smile,
a familiar face,
a loyal companion,
a warming embrace.

An inevitable change,
cast shadows on each day.
And a haunting reality
set you miles away.

Now a heartbreaking pain
cowers in your place,
an unforgettable past,
embedded in your face.

Memories so rich
engraved in our souls;
how we shared with each other
our dreams and our goals.

so far away
yet so incredibly near,
our hearts still entwined
through each giggle and tear.

It's you i will never forget
and its' this i will never deny;
that i will never be as sad
as the day i said goodbye

oh wow it was as if you were saying goodbye to a loved one forever which the story probably is but it was so strong and powerful a poem with that emotion
