You asked me for a poem
written by my hand.
A poem to hold you in a special light,
and make others understand.
There is such a bond between us.
Its from Heaven, sent to Earth.
Its been there since you held me,
on the day of my birth.
But there’s a problem with my task,
a challenge you can’t see.
For no words are fit to describe
what you mean to me.
A papa, a father, an angel.
All of this you are in my world
My guiding light and salvation,
while I’m just your little girl.
You led me through life’s storms,
held my hand when lightning flashed.
Then when my world was crumbling
You rescued me from the crash.
Many years have passed us,
and many things have changed.
But where you’re held in my heart
Words still cannot explain.
