One of the greatest virtues eludes us all Will we suffer in silence and not stumble and fall Showing calm endurance and tolerating delay Or God give me patience, but give to me right away Do we seek instant gratification in this day we live Caring not for others needs, just that they give If love is the greatest virtue, do we have faith to persevere Or cause division between ourselves and someone dear Will we become adversaries rather than lovers and friends Take the role of judge and jury, and cause friendship to end Build fences around our hearts, turn a deaf ear Feel walls of resistance or unlock love felt for years Is our love waiting for a chance to rise and shine It's not an easy road first loving ourself, but in time Without judgement and criticism, repair our souls Have patience and gentle thoughts, and together grow old |

Indeed I guess we could all profit from the precious gift of increased patience! Nicely done and wise. Love, Margherita |
