Something In Between Friday, and the weekend Just about to start Two more days to “lock away” Before the new week’s start. Then, I can go again And try to make it through Five more days of working And, planning what to do. When next weekend comes Those plans will be for naught It will be just like this one (That’s just what I thought!) Friday, have a few drinks Then, back home alone Doing what I always do My well laid plans, all blown. Two more days to think about Things, that I don’t, want to Dreaming of some by-gone times And some things, I should do. But, I know that I won’t It’s just a crazy dream Trying to make, the way it is Just something, in between. Abe, This is whimsical and different than so many poems that you share with us. I like it. Alison |

"Two more days to think about Things, that I don’t, want to Dreaming of some by-gone times And some things, I should do." yep ... this is the 2nd poem I've read today that (unfortunately) about 'sums it all up' for me as well! I believe there are far, far too many lives 'devolving' into similar situations these days amid this "Runaway American Dream" ... 'tis a remarkably lonely (isolating), self-referential society ... applause for this 'penning'! |

Perhaps your plans get sidetracked when you run into "a few drinks" Perhaps you should skip the drinks and do something adventurous and different Like this poem. Ida |
