TO ARLENE 22 November 2008 Arlene, as you probably know, . . . it was a strange thing . . . today, I was thinking beautiful thoughts about you up there in Heaven and tonight, of the very same day, when I phoned Chrisjan, Sandra called “Hello Mom” from the background. I didn’t mishear her. In fact, I didn’t hear her at all and Chrisjan asked me if I heard her and I said I didn’t and he repeated what she said, and I said, “Hello daughter”. I know you won’t mind her calling me that. In fact, I know that you will understand better than I do, better than she does, that it is a tribute from her to you and a gift from you to me. - Owl |

Diana~ 'understand'? I have no doubt Arlene would 'understand', but that she gives you an angelic embrace for sharing the *gift*~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Yo OwlSA, Since I don't know these people, I'm afraid I found this a little confusing. Bobby |

Wonderful write, dear Diana! Sometimes when a Mother moves on, she looks for someone who might best represent a continuation of a motherly bond on Earth. And the connection is therefore fully understood by the involved hearts. Intense! Love, Margherita |

Thank you Alison. Arlene and I weren't close. We liked and respected each other, but had nothing much more in common than the fact that she was the grandmother on my daughter-in-law's side and I was the grandmother on my son's side. I could have been more tolerant of her. However, yes, I am sure she undertands and approves of what I said in the poem. Thank you Marc-André. Thank you Marge. Yes, I believe she would. Bobby, Chrisjan (pronounced Krisyun) is my son. Sandra is my daughter-in-law. Arlene was Sandra's mother and she died on 23 October this year. Thank you Margherita. I believe you are right, and that Arlene and Sandra and I instinctively felt that, without our putting it clearly in words, until you did. Thank you. The relationship between my daughter-in-law and me is not perfect, but we both try very hard. - Owl |
