. June Again The woods Are green And sunlight shines Through summer leaves On the ground Red poppies grow The water from Last night’s rain Stands in still pools In deep depressions In the forest floor A small squirrel Ignorant of any sacrilege Searches for food Among slivered bones Rusted fragments Of broken wire And as always As then Though obviously Of course being Another era of birds . . . There are larks In trees Long since grown Singing |

Hauntingly beautiful. The solitude and the quiet isolation is so real---one can hear the sound of dry twigs cracking beneath the feet . . . art |

The victory of nature over men's interferences in its harmony. Beautiful! Love, Margherita |

The line breaks are a little off and the ending could be stronger, but at least you do have talent. turtle |

fine imagery in this impressionistic 'slice of forest life' write! I am particularly fond of: "The water from Last night’s rain Stands in still pools In deep depressions In the forest floor A small squirrel Ignorant of any sacrilege Searches for food Among slivered bones Rusted fragments Of broken wire" serious applause for this 'penning'!! |
