What should I do To prepare myself For when she comes back And I’m put on the shelf? I thought I could do it But I’m no longer sure That I can step back That I can endure Do I distance myself Begin my retreat Bow out as I promised Give in to defeat? I feel such a fraud I invested too much I sadly underestimated The pull of your touch Will you forgive me When I start pulling away Creating a distance When I so want to stay? I’ve grown so much Learned so many things Gained trust in myself You’ve given me wings Should I stand by my word, Set my feelings aside Untie my heartstrings Or confess that I lied? T |

Powerfully written from the heart. Your longing is conveyed well. If he is non-fictional, I hope he knows what is in your heart. I think he probably does. |

thank you all for your kindness. i appeciate every word of encouragement and support. i love this man and every moment i have with him. it's nice to know my heart is speaking loud and clear and that people who don't even know me can hear it and understand. t |
