What is this thing we call emotion? Mysterious language of the soul A blinding, burning, boundless ocean That leaves us fast without control You cannot stem this endless tide From its strong grasp you cannot hide It swells with every lovers kiss Crests high with each new joy It burns brightly for the ones you miss But sense is soon destroyed Reason falls when facing hate Like many it will desecrate Anger, fear, lust and distrust Dark as the hidden face of the moon Hard to resist and yet we must The call of their deceiving tune These emotions only bear us down In their lying grasp we slowly drown Happiness, faith and forgiveness Like newborn babes, do not beguile Instead by simple goodness bless And bring joy to every smile Simple things that heal the pain And cleanse deeper than the purest rain These hidden depths can’t be explored Nor this boundless ocean confined Yet I have found a two edged sword One side leaves only fear behind The other can heal broken lives Your choice is which emotions thrive |

My emotions sure ran the gamut with this one! lol Yeppers! That's what makes us human and separates us from the animals! ~ But, then again, that could be debatable! lol Nicely penned! Earth Angel  |

Hmmm, often the distance between us and animals seems as you say...debatable...although even animals would never do some of the things we do because of these destructive emotions Warm regards!
