Will You Forgive My Absence? |

The garden's got me tired, James Taylor's got me mellow, the rain's got me reaching for consolation in yellow, and some kinda consultation with a fair-feathered fellow. Will you forgive my absence? 'cause I just can't close my eyes long enough to pull myself away from the creek in its rise. It's written somewhere in stone and I can't compete with the wise. The snakes got me standin' still, the trees got me posin' and usually now, these evenings I stay right up till closin' the full moon and silent stars got me a little bit frozen. Will you forgive my absence? at least until the end of May 'cause I just can't close my eyes long enough to pull myself away. |

Will you forgive my absence? I will surely be back home soon if I can close my eyes just long enough to pull out my favorite tune, to tear myself away from the misty moon, well...it just might take all June. |

The one thing I DON'T miss Dixie girl, are those darn snakes. The first year I llived out in the country back in 1994, it seems like everytime we went out into the field, there were snakes. |

Thanks everyone I love these replies! I guess I am too impatient. We only have dial-up internet out here and it's really annoying! The garden is really lots of work too. Maybe by August, I will have the garden picked clean and be able to get high speed internet. I do miss reading the poetry here. |
