A breeze slowly wakes like a child from sleep
As faint as the flutter of hummingbird wing
Its message is lovely and holy and deep

As long ago memories silently creep
And footsteps move into the summer from spring
A breeze slowly wakes like a child from sleep

Nostalgic the visions and pleasures they reap
Spawning  sweet songs of life that we secretly sing
Their message is lovely and holy and deep

I sit by a pond where the green willows weep
Their dangling branches reluctantly swing
As a breeze slowly wakes like a child from sleep

The rustle of leaves are the voices that seep
From hot summer images memories bring
Their message is lovely and holy and deep

This Father’s Day bound to unleash from your keep
Tales lovingly told on a wooden porch swing
As a breeze slowly wakes like a child from sleep
With a message that’s lovely and holy and deep

"A breeze slowly wakes like a child from sleep"

The first line of this just imprinted itself on to my brain. Very cool imagery here and I really enjoyed it.

I have seen Elizabeth sit down, with a pen, and whip one of these up oh, in about 2 minutes.  I still maintain because of the spirit she has and shares, she just is "a poem" in human form.

Beautiful m'lady Lizzie.  When you get time can you send me that picture of you and the kids?  Brother, have they ever grown up since I was there - perhaps I shall have to come down again and search for those Clydesdales.

We need to find a tree like that to dangle our tootsies in I think.

Love ya!

Carpe' Diem,

Yo dear Elizabeth,

This works well as a villanelle.
