i awaken within 6am, the sun still sleeps between morning and night. stars are vanishing within a lighter sky. the after shower left a smell of salt water burning into my memory. dense mist lingers among the lawn and streets, as crickets dance for their mating of a new generation. blue jays, robins, and swallows make conversations before the sun sends them to work. as they laze around i stare into a far distance, as a leap of lighten torn me right out of my skin. the birds left, the crickets leaped into tree holes. as i stare still scared to the bone, reawaken to reality. |
