Baby girl on her bicycle seat, Trembling with fear. She whispers, “Daddy, I need you”, He replies, “Baby girl, I’m here”. So she pedals slow, then faster, Laughing with the wind in her hair. She’s riding all alone now, Forgotten that he’s there. Baby girl stares at the math homework, Brow crinkled, about to cry. She whispers, “Daddy, I need you”, He replies, “Baby girl, just try”. She works hard, suddenly gets it, Everyone impressed by her grades. Her confidence grows slowly, While her father slowly fades. Baby girl runs crying to her room, Teenage heart broken to the core. She whispers, “Daddy, I need you”, He replies, “Baby girl, you’re destined for more”. She dries her tears and smiles, Soon she finds out he’s right. She falls in love again, Daddy disappears from sight. Baby girl clutches the bouquet in fear, All in white, from head to toe. She whispers, “Daddy, I need you”, He replies, “Baby girl, do you love him so?” She takes his arm, nods with a smile, Forgetting all her fears. He gives her to her groom, She cannot see Dad’s tears. |

I literally got goosebumples as I read this. I had thoughts of my own father (who has returned to Heaven). This was beautifully written! What a wonderful father/daughter relationship! An absolute treasure! Hi, Eros! Welcome aboard the PiP ship! I trust that you'll enjoy sailing these seas of blue as much as I do! Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug, Earth Angel |
