I wish I had more gifts to give
I would offer you anything
For you are the one who taught me to live
And to you, only my words I bring

Just when I had thought myself dead
You picked me up and saved me
‘Write something just for me’ you said
And then smiled ever so softly

All I need is these pictures of you
And more, like oxygen I need
To help remember when love was true
The energy from which I feed

Take my gift as a small affection token
Down payment to Heaven on Earth
The cure to heart and souls that are broken
I hope my words bear some worth
