It talks to me, sings to me,
though it never utters a word,
It lifts me up, up, up,
though it doesn’t have any arms
and makes the unseen spin inside
always and ever to music
I never ever can hear.

Without any hands it touches
my, oh, so tender spot
and silently wipes away a tear
I thought to forever ignore
and there are secrets, yes indeed,
that I feel but don’t really know
hiding somewhere behind the curve.

It’s only a smile, a beguiling smile,
and so very wicked and “nice”
but one day it shuffled its feet
and moved to the far other side
of my inherent insight
and it did all that without any legs.

A smile, a smile, amazing smiles,
they’re magicians in their own right!

I'd bet you hear the music of a smile. Oh, yes, you do, you know you do.

I like the idea of a smile being a glimpse into ones soul.

True, they can be decieving at the same time.

Good to ponder this poem of yours.

Yes, they are indeed, Honeybunch. Often times a smile is all it takes to brighten someones day.

Nothing so easy to give and lands with so much grace as a simple smile. Love this one.

Honeybunch,
Now that's the best revealing
of Smile I ever read,

smiling back at you,

using a little imagination, one can read a lot into a smile

Thanks so much everyone.  I greatly appreciate your comments and, Margherita, that smile I wrote about ... shuffled it's feet but such is the way of smiles.

As they say ~ "A smile begets a smile!" ~ and your poem of smiles has me smiling as well!

May you reap as many smiles as you radiate out into the world!

Love, hugs, 'n smiley faces,

Linda

Dear Helen, as long as you keep smiling
your days will be bright. A brilliant smile

will open most doors in this not so happy world. May the sun keep shining for you. love and a big hug.

Lindsay
