The hourglass we’re living in Is nearly void of sand. Each little grain escaping Against my heart’s demand An interlude, a brief romance An affair of heart and mind A trusting time of give and take Two lives fleetingly entwined The beginning, hot and hurried A middle filled with pleasure The ending’s still mystery The journey a gift, a treasure The numbered days are dwindling We’ve whiled away the time Sweet hours, precious minutes, Each second, spent with you, sublime. t |

Wonderful write...loved the tempo and rhyme. It leaves me sad, though, that there can't be more. |
