And the butterflies danced around me Fluttering, spectacular colours through the air Flitting and floating, wings in unison As they pass through this garden so fair I longed to fly away with them To spread my magnificent wings I longed to disappear from that garden To a place where happiness sings Oh how my heart ached to watch As those butterflies danced in the light Oh how my soul cried out in vain As those butterflies left me in the night But see now! The Moon is arising My old friend, come to shine down so fair My longing to fly and be free is abating As my friend hears my pleas in the air The wounds that were aching inside me Are filling with the silver moonlight The light that is healing and eternal Like love, it is my divine right Soon the butterflies will come back dancing And fluttering around me in my garden And soon my heart will be whole once more And my past mistakes I will pardon.. |
