Bones doesn’t know much
about the big world.

He has intimate knowledge
of the few blocks
that make up the hood.

These he knows very well.

When clients take him places
he doesn’t know about,
he doesn’t have anything on his mind
except surviving the night,
and getting back to his beloved hood.

Bobby

For many, there is great comfort in sticking to familiar building blocks.

I guess familiar places mean safety ... until time changes them to war zones.  Fortunately Bones wouldn't be thinking about that now.

Thanks dear Kacy,

Before I retired I did engineering for clients all over the world.  Every year included trips to North America, Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and Australia.  I never worked on the continent of Antarctica.

Now you can't get me out of the hood, I refuse to leave the place.

Thanks dear Honeybunch,

While the hood is considered by many to be a dangerous place, it's really not that bad.

Bones knows the hood, and the hood knows Bones.  That keeps it safe for him.

Yo Bobby..Touching poem with delicate words and deep ideas, the words go far beyond the poem to deliver a universal mesage...

keep on the good work.

As bones rarely leaves the hood, I can see that his clients have very little in common with yours, Bobby. If they are difficult to survive the night with, then, bad business is afoot.
Bones will survive how he knows best.

Thanks Yann,

I'm pleased that the poem worked that way for you.  Bones know he's safe at home.

Thanks dear Osprey,

You are correct.  Bad business is always afoot with Bones.  His is a dangerous calling, but he has no choice.

Thanks dear Suthern,

You are right about young Bones.  When Bones grew up he traveled all over the world.  He felt at home everywhere.  He also was able to drink the water everywhere he went.  He had good tummy training in the hood.

Love Bobby
