I cannot say
what is"real"
in the days
that are perceived.

I called Marlene,
after thirty three years
of memories and neglect.

Memories of hot teen summer,
when Life was still in Spring.

She often sent
word by others
for me to call or write,
but I always neglected
to do so.

and now...
after all this time...
with so much to catch up on...

she says she
does not remember me.

... and I cannot say

what is "real"
in the days that
are perceived.

You never called so she disavows all knowledge.  Pride is such a horrible thing!  I guess nothing is really real when one really thinks about it.  Enjoyed your words!

Yo XOx Uriah xOX,

Thirty-three years can be a long time.
