It is a preference of mine to pretend I do not know so I won't have to say goodbye. I answer one lie with my own-- the pretense of "we are just fine" as our silences have grown into stack fences made of stone approved because they were not thrown nor mortared by a judgement, hewned the statement it is elegant although it lacks the truth. as every day that passes by I wait for you to trust, confide in me, the way it used to be when I could say love was defined in simplest terminology-- no you no I no annulus no need to add or to reduct Remember when it was just us? You can't-- because it never was... |

I sure understand this. And, I know just how much it hurts. |

Remember when it was just us? You can't-- because it never was... So few words... and yet, even without the rest of the poem, they make such impact. You know I just want to reach out and hug you... though I'm just as inclined to bow in awe. |

quote: What a powerful vision! You have no idea how much I can identify with what you convey here with your usual mastery! ... it never was!! This statement will echo in my ears for some time ... Love, Margherita |

Oh man, where do I begin? From the great metaphors of silent acknowledgment of a change in some interpersonal interaction, to the powerful, heart breaking ending. Karen, you know I love this one. |

When I think of anyone relating to this one, it makes me feel very sad. It's deceptively simple...with some fancy mathy stuff thrown in because that kind of stuff was always a way of hiding a solution for me. I've been having good times lately, but I've had to do a lot of work to...allow that. So I'll say thanks for your time and the read, but I must credit Steven Gold, and his work, the book, "Not Trauma Alone". And I think that's all I wanna say about this one. Love to all. |

It is always a treat to lay eyes on one of your works and this one is no exception. I was partial to the following lines..... *************************************** the pretense of "we are just fine" as our silences have grown into stack fences made of stone *************************************** and of course your ending brought the full impact home. |

...there was a sadness to this one that ached...your description of this, however, was outstanding...succinct and well done...thanks for sharing |

Reading this, I thought even if your name wasn't on as author, I'd know it was your work, Karen. No one has the expressive talent found in your work. Sadly, many seem to relate to the dilemma you describe. Have times really changed so much or do we just analize feelings more? God bless, Rae |
