In the winds of Cherokee song

Depths of Resolution

I have tasted the sorrow
of the rainbow
through words of silence
written    between the bands
of color
where tears of lonliness
frolick in golden rays
to hide the clouds
of seperation

The blue of canvas
brushed in seven strokes
of masquerade
offering smiles    lending compassion
to broken souls

Were I to navigate
the footprints
of each tear
left    on golden dreams
and listen
to each stir
     each whisper
          each plea
Surely
I would find
linings of silver
serenading
the rainbows of silence

Silence entwined
in the blue of shadows
courting the resolution
of heart    as [it] builds
on crescendos of peace
where green and gold
gleam in the palms
of love    and each touch
lingers on
eternal trace of white moon
nursing the pains
of remembered opportunities lost

Were silence
to be broken down
into the simplicity of binary
with an understanding
and a desire of heart
then                     and only then
could two become
the all

The entirety
where a horizon
of comprehension
is showcased by the curator
in a gallery of blue canvas
illuminated
without the shadows
of despair

This [is] where the rainbow
shall find a path
leading to a passion
   spilling into
the depths of resolution
knowing no boundaries
free of silent storms
riding the currents
of tormented colors.

I always expect excellence to flow from your pen and you do not disappoint. But sometimes, even the highest expectations can be brilliantly shattered... and you've done that here with words that flow as softly into hearts as they flow smoothly down the page. I can't pick a favorite part because I love every word. Bravo!!

Isn't it awesome the way great poetry touches each person, perhaps differently, yet intensely?

Difficult to pull out "only one" verse, but this one spoke to me of honoring the healing process with a quiet, compassionate outlook.  Sometimes, the heart must be broken, to make room for what is to come.

Excellent Poetry Mark.

Mark, this is stunning! I love the way you 'taste' the rainbow, bring the heart and spirit of another person's passion into compassionate focus. You never fail to touch the heart strings.

Very very nice, Mark.

I like the style of it very much, as I am strugging to get away from habitual rhyme myself. It reads well, and I think you used punctuation to your (our) advantage.

Much enjoyed this...rather like a very mellow cabernet.
