You spoke...and your dear words Have left an echo in my heart That follows all the paths I take. Above the strife of turmoil It resounds... And in the silence of the quiet dark It makes its way. A whispering ghost, it lingers ever Beside my faltering steps. And through the Desert of Desire It companions me. Need all my life be lived With but an echo? I cannot tell. Save only this I know: That while the echo breathes, I live... And when the echo dies, I go! |
