In the veneer of another squalid day
It comes suddenly much to my dismay
The feeble attempts at self preservation
Have lost all sense of reservation
Windowless rooms inside the mind
Locked from within and no keys this time
The same dream over and over plays out
Its images from eyes to mouth to shout
The same thing that used to offer hope
Is now a loathsome knotted rope
A blow dealt from an unseen hand
A glass of time dripping sand
It still seems somehow so unreal
How upon a place you can so much feel
And how fast everything can be gone
No matter the memories that linger on
Something that I would faithfully defend
Of the ideal now lost that I used to depend
It’s over, it’s all over as the line begins to blur
In this is the one thing left of which I am sure

This touches me deeply... the sense of loss and despair is palpable... the angst is so poignant. When there is no going back, we go forward... even when we can't see through the tears. Beautiful, beautiful write!!

That's very touching.....I was absorbed.
