The Day The Angels Cried |

Her call had been to fight for Him as legions battled on. She led the soldiers into war they fought with might and brawn. But evil forces were at work to end her God’s campaign. A girl of only nineteen years, they said she was insane. They came for her at early morn to take her to her fate. She kicked and screamed, she spit and cried they dragged her to the stake. They said no girl was called of God; they knew it could not be. Her battle cry was heard by all. Her death was by decree. They tied her to the stake of wood and lit the fire below. She had no hope left in this life; her face now all aglow. Her eyes were set on heav’n above; she felt her God’s embrace as flames became her funeral pyre, a smile upon her face. |
