Sun and Sweater

Once we spoke in cool tones, attempting unemotional gusts
Except the breezes started warm, and continued into tropical waves
Darkness would always make silent throw, across my eyes
But the core of me had already melted into molten red
And I found myself turning in my sleep, just to keep time with morning

Decided long ago, love should never be a burden
Found myself sailing the updrafts high into the sun
Alone, the sky was colder, pinking the most northern parts
To my surprise, I drew closer, those first cool words
Knit in gentle stitches that still make my sides hurt

Even rain holds within its hands the sweet of sensation
Streaming my wrists with perfume, scenting my hair in wilderness
Never sure if I am bound to the earth, or gently paused while the world turns
Once we spoke in cool tones, attempting unemotional gusts
And all I got was this sweater, too warm to be wasted on good bye

The last line of the first verse made me nod knowingly...

and then I didn't stop.

You're gorgeous.

Oh, that love should never be a burden. If only the truth was as simple as the decision making.
A host of glorious lines, too numerous to quote with fairness.

I liked all of this. very impressive.

But I have to tell you I loved this line.

Never sure if I am bound to the earth, or gently paused while the world turns

I love how you use creation's splendor as your art board...and how deep the truth of statements like this:

"love should never be a burden" ...show themselves against such a lovely backdrop...nice write...lovely imagery
