Yard-Sale Tale Come and listen to my story 'bout some girls, truck and gas gone a ridin' down the street doin' 50, haulin' fast. Just a laughin' and a cacklin' while jokin' havin' fun, it's a bright sunny day and the girls are on a run. Well, turnin' down a street was a sign by the mail and bargain huntin' eyes had them shoutin' "Yard Sale". Broke hinges on the door, cracked a double pane of glass just gettin' out the truck on a day that's goin' fast. Well the next thing you know the truck was loaded down with lamps and clothes and the sales of things they found. The money gettin' low but the Sun was high off ground. The girls sniffed the air when they heard a strange sound. They raced over tracks, crossed a bridge and a pond, turned left down a street, Yard Sales were goin' on ! How they knew it ? I don't know, some psychic odor thin that primes female noses to hunt bargains in the wind. Down a path, round a moat, over land and thru the trees found suspended was a castle on a cloud above the seas of oaken doors and marble floors with vivid rainbow rays reflecting brilliant sunlight on its halls of gold archways. What froze the girls, hynotized and mesmerized their minds was outside on the castle's lawn, a giant "Yard Sale" sign where golden statues, silver slippers, gems and kitchen tools made eyes light up, knees go weak, saliva drip and drool ! Arching stairs appeared in sky and spanned the distance fast. Raced they over golden steps transfixed by 'Yard Sale' grass. Rummaged they, oohed and aahed for hours six or seven to cry with tears, when over, for this time in Yard Sale Heaven. And singing in the loaded truck with treasures in the back, the day was full of magic buys. 'Twas time to hit the sack and dream of cherished moments when to bargain, hunt and seek those Goodies at the Yard Sales that await for them next week. Namyh |

A heavenly garage sale, to be sure! Can I join you on your next one? ~ Pretty please??? I'd be looking for a harp to replace the one that fell off of my cloud and into the deep blue sea. Divinely delightful! EA |

Sunshine – That old tyme TV song had a story to tell. I’m so very happy you listened to this one with your sunshine. Namyh BillieC – Well BillieC, it started out with a completely different beat that didn’t seem to work and then I was watching TV and guess what was coming on ? Thanks for having fun. Namyh Sea – It’s evident that they love you too. Thanks for your words Sea. Namyh EarthAngel – Ahh Shucks ! You just missed a beautiful celestial one, by 10 minutes, that had fallen from the sky and was picked up by a trawler in the Indian Ocean and then delivered for sale. Keep the faith and another will come along. “So let it be written. So let it be done.” Thanks EA. Namyh Midnitesun – You’ll walk pass a yard sale table one day and something will catch your eye. You’ll look at it and it will look at you. And for a moment your pulse will quicken, your breathing increases and your tongue goes dry as you consider its possible possession. It will be then that you’ll know that you’re having Fun. Enjoy. Namyh |

Yep, now you mention it, you can't quite get old Jed Clampett out of your mind. A great, entertaining read that just swings along, inducing smiles. |

suthern – Neither rain nor sleat nor hail can stop the die hard yardsaler from where their compelled to go. And the Code of the Yard-Sale prohibits anyone and anything that slows down the quest to be summarily stripped of their Luck, shot with an Anti-bargain spray and required to sit in the car in silence until all the fun is over. Now you got me laughin'. Please show this to sis and have her chant “Come Watson, the Yard Sale awaits and the game is afoot”.(LOL) Thanks for your enjoyment Suthern. Namyh poddarku – I am totally honored by your words. To be vivid is a poetic compliment. To be different is a badge of honor. But to be psychedelic, well that borders on the reverential and I thank you very much for it. Hope this put a smile on ya. Namyh Osprey – When Jed Clampett shot his lucky rifle to discover oil and subsequently move to Beverley Hllls, it is rarely known that he got that rifle at ………you guessed it………a Yard Sale. Thanks Osprey. Namyh |
