Night Life

Listen
The night becomes a symphony unto itself
As the light shifts into quadrilateral illuminations
My skin quivers in an octave frequency just waking
Sounds that make pictograms on my mind
Alive and uncharted
Exploring by some inner knowing, the attentive rite
Spring, in its evening call, resuscitates the darkness
Familiar voices clear the throat of ebony
Listen
Taken into REM, the basis for a long night’s dream

Lovely metaphors and the mood is great.

Love that rapid eye movement just before you wake and sometimes you wish you could have stayed in the dream.

I am such a night person, this one is almost written for me.
Thanks.
It's great to be able to read your works again.
