Petal Shoes Crocus are shy, in this state of dual personality Yet, even so, quiet steps are thoughtful of their piety Leaving Iris, watchful and carefree, pad the turns in their ease Almost Tulips, nodding off now and again amid the breeze Resting Laurels, on my knees Home hums, an almost inaudible sound Daffodil bow heads at will, another seasons sighs abound Taking stock of water wells, goblet circles surface dwells Wish a dish, fin tail spin tells Perhaps time naps in spring How far we’ve come, bloom to newest bloom Sunset cools new leaves in sleeves with growing room Earmarked, the earth will soon relent to rose’s lacy scent Line dried, the tears I’ve tried to hide, remember rain But just a smirking sun is all that would subside before again Familiar, would my eyes caress your laughter in the dew Whatever blooms because of you My steps in softest shoe, Claim rendezvous Copyright Kkh 4/8/09 |

Kathleen, this is just beautiful. We had a freeze here a couple of days ago. And, the freeze killed my flowers. Well, the tulips haven't died, yet. |

I am stunned by the beauty of this, as am I when I read all your poetry. But, I think you know this. |

"Perhaps time naps in spring" My thoughts exactly! Your descriptive talents excel in this piece, with perfect flower 'personalities and behaviors' imagery. |
