Soft and sweet
Do the notes float above me
Flowing with the warm breeze,
While each beat, gently lifts my feet,
As I’m ready to move, with beauty,
With living harmony,
To glide my soles across the sea
Of fallen leaves
Under a golden flecked evergreen,
Created by a slipping sun
Waiting to sing the song of dusk,
To someone anew.

And there, under a sheltering tree,
My glistening eyes and yours meet,
As the notes of soothing winds
Flow past our bare feet,
Along our hopes and dreams,
Along with you and me.

Oh soft and sweet
Do the notes float above me,
As the beats lift our arms,
And move our timid legs,
The notes of beauty
Moving us to be as one,
As night brings the cool breeze
Of an ending harmony,
Slipping away with the sun.

Absolutely awesome! I decided in my mind you were speaking of a gentle breeze bringing together two souls in the night. Lovely poem.

Thanks! I was trying to write a free verse, but I just couldn't help but rhyme, oh well!

This lovely poem is aptly named ~ "Soft and Sweet".

Many fine images depicted here, however, this one is especially appealing to me. ~
