Stretching muscles and mind matter
to the limits this morning,
I think I finally understood
what Yoga teacher Priscilla meant.

"Forget the what ifs,
go forward to the next time"
mindset and thought pattern.

It's a waste of time and energy
fretting
over what you
shoulda woulda coulda done.
The only way
to extricate yourself from the hole
you dug for yourself
is to wake up each day,
look in the mirror and say

"Next time,
I'll get it right"
"Next time, I'll be smarter"
"Next time, I'll think about
the consequences
before I make my move."

Next time
implies forward movement.
All else is
ancient history.

Yo Kacy,

This is a good poem.  We both had "what if" thoughts at about the same time.

It's amazing.

Ah, my friend... I need to paste this to my mirror, my keyboard... perhaps just design glasses to keep it always in view. *S*

Ah, Kacy, this is SO you.  THANK YOU for your unbelievable and indomitable spirit and the amazing work you do for all of us!  Not only do you heal yourself with this, this time (and THANK YOU for that), but you have healed so many people in the past and will do so for so many people in the future.  You are an inspiration to so many, especially me.  When I am so very tired the day after anti-crime patrols and trying to do everything that I need to over the weekends, thinking of you spurs me on!

Much enjoyed!

Huggles (not so gentle any more, now that you are getting so much better!)

This reminds me of a famous angry press conference by my New Orleans Saints coach, Jim Mora, after we had blown a game against the 49ers, and we proceeded to go on a winning streak and into the NFL playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

Just thought I'd share that. lol

I'm definitely looking forward though. To more playoff appearances, and poems of yours. *S*

grinnin' behind the Chalmette Guy and nodding...

Lotsa wisdom in this--I need to remember my mistakes, but stop with the scourge already.

Too true and all can take a lesson from that.
Reflecting on fond memories is certainly alright but dwelling on the regrets of the past is very unfulfilling.

Good work Kacy!

Hey Kacy,

There's a lot of inspiration in this poem - it's kinda like "on your feet lose your seat" - we just gotta look at what we have and not waste time on regrets.  It's hard to dig out of a hole though.  That's why in my next life?  I want to be a heavy equipment operator - give me an Excavator any day over diamonds!

Love you,
Alison
