this poem is not about USING someone...it's about growing to love someone that would have never had a chance before tragedy...and about God's choice in things...teaching what love really is even though life taught different.

I think we make the mistake sometimes of assuming that poems are about the people who write them.  I know I have made poems up - stories up in my head - and had people respond with sympathy to what I am undergoing.

If I did that to you, Dixie, in my response, you have my sincere apology.  I don't love the messages in the senryu because they make me sad - that does NOT mean that I don't appreciate the writing of them.  They are good.

I try not to assume that I know what a poem is about - but, I do fall into that mindset sometimes.  If I ever do it to you - reach out and kick my behind.  I promise to get the point.
