Bones Gets Farmed-Out |

The welfare people decide Mom can’t take care of Bones anymore. They think he needs more fresh air and hard work exercise. Enough of this playing stick ball in the playground, and stuff like that. They decide to send him to a farm. Bones soon figures out, the farmers not going to send him to school, and that’s all right, Bones doesn’t exactly like school. The only thing is the farmer makes Bones work all day, summer and winter. It’s nothing but slave labor, and Bones hates it. Bobby |

Bobby - not right that Bones is working like slave labor. Gotta get outta that place... However, living on a farm could be quite nice, but not if Bones doesn't have any time off... BC |

I guess it's not right for kids to be kids and play games like stickball - get their butts to work. It's okay if it is all in the name of righteousness. A |

Can't say as I blame Bones. A little time spent in relaxation and reflection develops character. Bones needs self esteem character......Thanks for the continuing saga of the hardships of Bones, makes us all think. Eric |

Yeah, Thanks Eric, Also, they say going to school helps the mind. When Bones was farmed out, there was no time for school, just work. Bobby [This message has been edited by Robert E. Jordan (01-08-2009 09:13 AM).] |

Foster parents suck, most of the time. Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand. |

Paul, I agree. I have heard that there are some good ones. I've even known one. A foster parent of a good friend of mine. That was many years ago. She used to play the piano and sing for her foster son and me. She was a lovely lady. He died in an auto accident when he was sixteen. He's the basis of many of my poems. You know what I think of foster care, If there are good foster parents, I have yet to meet them. Ida |

Thanks dear Ida, I have met one good foster parent. She was the final foster mother of, believe it or not, "Bones". She used to play the piano, and sing The Tennessee Waltz to Bones and me. That was shortly before his death at 16 years in a car crash. That's the death of one of the real Bones. She was a sweet lady. I wrote a poem about her. It's here below. Love Bobby |

All work and no play, wouldn't sit right with me either. I'm glad to learn that Bones stopped doing the slave labor and eventually went on to get an education. His mind wouldn't be wasted. Linda |

Thanks dear Linda, Actully, all the real Bones are dead, and gone, except for one, and he's a cab driver here in Philadelphia. They were/are all my friends, and the dead ones are sadly missed by me and others. Love Bobby |

Thanks dear Linda, I forgot to add, that Bones did get to go back to school once he got off the farm. I was very glad when that happened. Love Bobby |
