This is the second of my two poems for February, in keeping with my goal of at least 2 new works every month of 2009. "In the End" Nothing in the life is certain Though we all shall someday pass Beyond the veil of Death's dark curtain Caught within her grasp at last And in that dark and dreary dwelling We shall come to realize Of worldly class no sign is telling All are equal in her eyes So cling not to your wealth and power Don't talk down or condescend For soon may be your final hour And all are equal in the end February 17, 2009 AMdG "My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night; but ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--it gives a lovely light!" -Edna St. Vincent Millay |

Don't talk down or condescend For soon may be your final hour And all are equal in the end How very true! *S* |
