What is life?
The beauty of what you get in the end
What if I can’t get her back?
I want to be a big star player
But that won’t bring you back

Is there nothing that can help me now?
Tell me what do I live for?
Tell me if I can have that crutch
The failing of this town
It’s only in my mind here
I thought you felt the same way
But that was just to please
My simple mind

Can I call you Alison?
Or is that just a name that I haven’t understood
You’re unique
Sometimes I thought you were the only one
I hope I feel the same way
When I see you again
Will that day come?
When will I see you alone?

I want to speak the words on my mind
Those words won’t be forgotten
They won’t be gone
Time is changing me
I’m sure it’s played with you too

How can I not respond to a poem that calls my name - even if it is not written for me.  Your heart is in your poem with these words and I think your first two lines sum it up.

quote:
What is life?
The beauty of what you get in the end

Maybe life and love reflects all that we put into it.  Your poem caught my eye (obviously because of name), but it kept my attention with the question and explorations of thought that followed.

Thank you for sharing it.

I felt the yearning in this piece. This is a very tender cry.

Good writing!
