I dance on yesterday's snow...
according to Alison, how did she know?

I keep putting off planting.
I listen to Spring chanting
let me grow my greens-
let me come into newer scenes
and forget about the in-betweens.

Let me dance on tomorrow's soil,
put behind the strife and toil,
and bring the potatoes to a boil,

maybe make a pot of stew...
praise be to the one who knew
that dancing on snow could never bring
passing shadows to thrive in Spring.

For this is how I dance
leaving nothing up to chance-
and the garden will flourish
while my body will feed and nourish

and I will never dance on snow again.

Wow, Dixie, this is brilliant. I love it. I am happy Alison inspired you to write and to dance on.

Hey you!  Dance on!

Dixie, let your spirit sore (laughs -- I typed "sour" ... don't do that.  Oh no!).  You have so much beauty in you that sometimes I think it needs down time to rejuvinate itself.  Let it flower.

Love,
A

Yeppers! Thanks Alison! You've inspired Dixie to prance, and dance and sing!

Spring is in the air! Dance on, Dixie girl!

Nice to see ya Dix!

My dancing has been compared a lot to Dancing Bear! (that would be from Captain Kangaroo -- a reference probably 9/10ths of the world doesn't get...)

You go!  Cept on snow

I'm not sure if this was intentional but this was the most poignant line for me.

maybe make a pot of stew...

Very clever the way you snuck your name in there also.

Let me dance on tomorrow's soil,
put behind the strife and toil,
and bring the potatoes to a boil,

That is a lovely philosophy dear Dixie in a lovely light hearted Spring poem. Take a bow
dear Lady. Love

yeppers...time for a garden and homegrown veggies! (dancing all the while)

that stew is gonna be really good with potatoes, carrots, celery, green beans, peas, tomatoes, okra, corn, and the best tender beef in town ...a one-of-a-kind Dixie recipe!

Thank you each for your comments! Makes me want to dance some more!
