Heaven's Main Street It has not been quite five years Yet I'm always missing her so. Now thoughts are with another Who is struck with the same worst foe. To learn that he now cannot speak And a tube is his way to eat. I wonder if she has been calling to join her in heaven's Main Street. Who's to say life's to be fair at all With the loss of a sister, too young. Now the worry, her husband not well with a cancer that dwells in his lung. So I pray once again much too soon. The losses sometimes overwhelm "If onlys" are thoughts not enough As I visit her 'neath the young elm. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

I love how you titled this poignant, melancholic poem, dear Maureen. Yes, too soon to go and hard on those who remain with the deep longing. Love and hugs. Margherita |

"Heaven's Main Street" can get far too crowded with our loved ones. I'm sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's struggles. May he ~ and you ~ be surrounded by God's comforting, healing angels. Love & Light, Linda |

Maureen, I am so sorry to read about your brother-in-law. Maybe your sister needs him more than he is needed on earth. I do so hope she is there to meet him when it is his time to go. In the meantime, I am happy he as friends and family, like you, who love him. My thoughts are with you as it is hard to let emotions fly free sometimes. I am here for you always. Alison |

Oh, lady... *sigh* Sometimes it seems the grief will never stop... and smiles are but a distant memory. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} |

Thank you for your kind and warm thoughts. I have been under the weather myself lately and apologize for not responding much. Guess age is catching up to me. M |
