A soft and balmy summer night; a Poet's Moon smiles down, serene
and pale, from out a cloudless, star-shot sky; I muse what might have been
if we had met each other on some distant shore, far, far away;
would we have sparked a love affair to last until the end of days?
But long ago, when we were young; would we have known what now, we find?
Hopeless romantics, you and I... this kindredness, close intertwined.
I would imagine so; hopeless romantics only are perceived
as hopeless, in the eyes of those, who in romance, do not believe.

And, you and I are not cut from that cloth; we know romance is real.
It tip-toes through the words we use; it echoes in the thoughts we feel.
For love, unless it's mad and passionate, and quite extraordinary,
is just a waste of time... love cannot be just mediocrity.
This, then, is not a word I think to use in matters of we two,
there is no mediocrity; not you, to me, nor me, to you.
For, if a soul speaks with its eyes; with just a gaze,then, we can kiss;
and if a soul can touch, with thoughts; then, I indeed, can you, caress.

Whilst travelling the pathway, finding love somewhere along the way,
why then, does everything look new and different; not like yesterday?
It's still the same old pathway that we know; we just don't realise
nothing changed out there; it's just that Love has given us new eyes.
But, then... the saddest thing must be to go through life without loving;
no tear, nor sigh to mark one's passing; that would be a bitter thing.
But, almost equal sad; to leave this world, not having spent the time
ever telling those we loved, we love them; whispering... "Please, be mine."

For, what is given by the heart, is never lost, will never fade,
for it is kept in someone else's heart; a wordless promise made.
An act of faith; no guarantee; nothing expected, as a right,
This, then... the love, Romantics seek; this vision, shining pure, and bright.
This, then... the Covenant I make with you beneath this Poet's Moon.
Life's worth is not for measuring in hours or coin, or words bestrewn
about, in careless fashion... but, by how much love, along the way
we exchange, and share with one another...
Feelings we display.

That is absolutely PERFECT.

What a beautiful write.

I'm not a big fan of pictures and such, but I am a fan of this poem.
