Today
(at the river)
I think of you,
beautiful,
rare and strange
in your love.

Painful it is,
loving you;
wanting you,
knowing
the change that needs take place
before we can be as one;
before my love consumes me.

Tears flow:
I cry out
“I love you!”
hoping the wind
will carry my words,
wherever you are.

In my tears
I vow every night
to imagine you–
your beauty beside me:
one morning
I will awake
and you’ll be there.

Yo WindWalker,

The thought is very much there.  However, why put a comma after a colon.  I don't understand that.  I'm sure its correct, I just don't understand it.

I hope that happens.
You awake and your greatest love is there beside you.
I wish that on everybody.

Very nice, well expressed writing.

~ May she hear your plaintif cry, Dear One With Wind. Awake in the morning with the wind having done your bidding and your love lying there beside you.

Each line sings the refrain of a yearning heart beat. May she find her way to your path, WW.

a "slice of the 'everyman's life" Romanticism:

"I cry out
'I love you!'
hoping the wind
will carry my words,
wherever you are."

unfortunately many (most?) of us have likely 'been there' ...

continuing applause for this 'penning'!
