When first I saw his spots like flags flash across cut corn someday I thought I might just hang a trophy of November. Two years have passed and from my car binoculars are scanning I spot his spikehorns flailing shrubs a winner this November. Three Augusts pass and now he spars with brothers and with cousins with summers end, his neck balloons fight swells up in November. Six Junes have warmed his meadow home he king-struts springs alfalfa haunch muscles flexing dominance testosterone through November. Twelve seasons mourn his snowy tracks but mostly I remember Decembers chill came earlier the day I killed November. |

yes, you are good! reminds me of a son who playfully shot an arrow and killed a stork.... for the next 10 years at least the lonely partner sat in the branches of a dead ghost-gum tree.....they only ever take one mate.Kind regards Boshii2 |

I shared this with my father and my oldest son, as they are both dedicated outdoorsmen. Enjoyed this. Heather |

I wish November would never die. I eat moose - but, I am a tree-huggin'-Disney-animal-movie-cryin'-kind of woman. Good poem A |

Alison Sorry about the ending. Twelve seasons mourn his snowy tracks but mostly I remember Decembers chill came early when Walt Disney signed November. |

November remains hungry and nobel, since sired was the future of infinite Decembers. The way of nature reminds us to look, think, drink and move to the warmth of springs coming. You inspire. Enjoyed. |

I come from a family of hunters... and I was the sap crying through Bambi. *G* So I like the ending you wrote for Alison... even if it is fantasy. *S* You wrote the reality beautifully! |
