This is reworked based on a recent event where a Catholic bishop in Connecticut embezzled 1.4 million dollars from the local parish. He was driving around in a limo, had an expensive boyfriend, condo in florida etc. The local people in the parish asked the state governmnet to step in and form a committee to control their church funds. Bobby this is not meant to offend you. After the commercial is the news clip. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/29612053#29612053 There's something mystic in the air some believers find no peace an there's confusion everywhere, young boys become the weak. Clergymen they pour their wine Big business sharin rules. Neither one can wax divine, their closets in dark rooms. You might ride a bicycle or drive a cadillac. Might sit up in the front row or way down at the back. Might be a big C.E.O. or be takin out the trash. Whatever way you come or go someday you're goin back back past the saints in robes blockin heaven's pass, they might think they're sellin hope but the Lord ain't short of cash. Some worshipers feel slighted when their leaders bless the state, they're lookin bleak and frightened when they see God used for hate. But there's sunlight after dark a bright vision once disguised and there ain't no balcony nor harp ain't no stairway to climb. I'm livin in the afterglow of the fire and heat While cosy christians hide their souls near phalic window seats. And beyond that big comotion I hear the tradewinds blow. Out where the lord ain't poaching no money for my soul. chorus: You might ride a bicycle or drive a cadillac. Might sit up in the front row or way down at the back. Might be a big C.E.O. or be takin out the trash. Whatever way you come or go someday you're goin back back past the saints in robes blockin heaven's pass, they might think they're sellin hope but the Lord ain't short of cash. yeah their preachin bout sellin hope but the Lord ain't short of cash............ |

You are just telling the truth, no need for any apology, MHO, but you are a gentleman, always. |

Yo Eric, No problem. I have a tough skin. People have been pointing fingers at me and calling me a "cat licker" all my life. There wasn't anything offensive in your poem, and the Catholic Church will make out just fine. Some Bishops do better than others. You can take that to mean anything you want. Thanks Kacy I appreciate the comments. People are much better educated these days and the world has shrunk with technology. Religion today is more lay or secular rather than clerical or sacred Drop in anytime. Eric |

Bobby Thanks for the visit. I know from the Bones readings that you're not too sensitive. We may have some differing views but that's nothing new in this world today. I appreciate the visit as always. Eric |

Yo Eric, You got it Bro. Just ask Bones, he’ll tell you all about it. He’s a good Catholic boy too, or cat licker, if you wanna go that route. Like I say we’re both used to it. We’ve both been Soldiers of The Church, and Defenders of The Faith for years, since we were pups. We both have a bunch of bloody noses, and black eyes, both received and dished out to prove it. I’ll ask Bones to write more about the religious bigotry he’s faced in his life. I think it’s probably needed. No one, I repeat, no one in this land of the free, and home of the brave has the right to drag another person down because of their race, or religion. That’s written in the Constitution of the United Sates of America. Bobby |

You're right Bobby, no one has that right . After all we are free moral agents of this life and we make our own choices. No one has the right to be prejudiced against you and Bones because of your religion. I think a lot less of that happens these days. There was a time when I was growing up it was not proper for a Catholic to marry a Protestant but that has long since subsided and I think that's good. We are all human beings in this life together. All of the above just my opinion anyway. I can be quite forceful expressing it sometimes but like you stated, it's a free country and I can. Eric |

You guys can bad mouth my Catholic Church all you want. It’s the only church where a boy like Bones, or a girl like Marika can go and not have to be afraid of people looking down there noses at them, and poking fun, or worse. They are always welcome there. Bobby |
