Humble Pie It was right before winter vacation; from the hall I hearda songof cheer. I looked up and saw the door open; in ran a herd of red nose deer. They surrounded me with lots of giggles; theyhad a big surprise for me. One held a blue plate of gift cards; “Look at them” they urged me with glee. In the middle of the plate was a bear; on my tree you’d find him that day. Around the plate were so many gifts cards; speechless, I had no words to say. The gift cards were for places o’plenty; through them all I then took a look. Most for my three favorite restaurants; and one where I’d soon buy a book. So generous were all of these reindeer; their parents were kind, thoughtful too. Here find words of appreciation ; “Thank you so much” to all of you. |
