Beautiful Cruel ocean Standing alone in the wind of the ocean The screeching of the birds is all i hear The pounding of my heart rings out Because the sea has the one i hold dear, Why is the ocean so beautiful yet cruel? Haven't you taken enough souls over the years? Why take the only thing, “I love“? I know it falls on deaf ears, Beautiful ocean, wild and deep I am empty, while you, just move on I am left with my memories, of the one you took Now the love of my life has, gone. Annie 27-8-2008 |

I am so sorry for your loss. For a brief time I was a Navy wife and I remember the worry every time he went out to sea. My heart goes out to you. Very well expressed in this poem. |

Oh, Annie. What a heart-felt poem. I, too, am sorry for your loss and the sadness you must feel. |

Wow this is so beautifully powerful! I love the ocean and it hits a different emotional level for me because having grown up around the ocean -I'm aware of how much power it has and I just am more emotionally connected to poems about the ocean. This was really well written! I'm sorry you had to go through that! Losing someone you love - there's no paralell for the pain and the loss. I'm truly sorry! Beautiful writing though! Rhia |

I imagine many a sailor's wife or loved one could truly feel this one in their heart, I know I did. |
