My friends don't care much for history, archaeology, astrology and such. Mythology, astronomy, science, not so much. They like romance novels and read them everyday. They glance at my books, "Too much work to read those." They say. So while they all share their books, mine remain on the shelf. But that's alright... I'll read them myself. Ida Werrett |

I read much more non fiction then fiction my self Ida. I'd rather write a story then read one. The history of knowledge is my favorite tale. Good one Ida! Richy |

I understand this so well, dear Ida. Just bought: "A briefer history of time" by Stephen Hawking and "Parallel Worlds" by Michio Kaku. I don't dislike romance every now and then, but science and new attempts to explain our cosmos are no doubt so much more fascinating! I love to keep my science books, while I can separate easily from novels. You caught my interest with this one! Love and hugs. Margherita |

Ida, I go through spurts of interest. Some days I just like something mindless and others I tackle something with more depth. I often have books lying around that I am reading, three or four at a time. I would love to look through your bookshelves. Love, A |

Thanks to all for reading and commenting. Margharita, I am going to have to look for those books, they sound like just the thing for me. Richy, Wow, one of my favorites as well. Bobby, you're so right. Alison, I can' think of anyone I would rather share my books with. I wish we lived closer, I think we could be great friends. Bruce, some of my favorite reading is your writing. |

Ida - there is so much knowledge in the books you read. Much to be gained from them also... BC |

You have to love what you do or there's no point to it all. It won't only be just you, there will be others and you'll love them even more. Good writing, I enjoyed the read very much. Eric |

My dear Ida Belle, I'm with you! How delightful it would be if you and I could read in companionable silence, sharing our books with each other. It is apparent to me that you read material of substance for it relays into substantial writing! Love your inquiring, philosophical mind ~ and spirit. Love your poetry and you! Linda |

It's funny I should read this today--I was just telling someone a while ago about how a friend walked in, and picked up my copy of "Plato's Republic" and said, "oooh, Plato!" like I was doing something dirty. (She mispronounced Plato, too--short "a" sound) and I just said, "It's PLAY-TOE." *sniff* wink sheesh I'm thinking of drawing a map on my front door and putting an X, and the words, "You aren't here." But this is what makes Pip so addictive, methinks. I came here and said, "I have found my people." |

I liked this. Sometimes even people you thought were your closest friends don't wanna take the time or energy to hear (read) about what's going on in your life. That's when you find out who your real friends are, I guess. Just keep moving on, I'm all about that. Good write. |

Hi Marge, I don't like romance novels so I don't ask to borrow them and my friends aren't interested in what I read so they don't borrow my books either but they share with each other because they all like the same thing. Ida |
