Music: Sky 7 by Mychael Danna
From the album entitled: Celtic Twilight

Celtic Lovers
by Linda L. Dowd

On a mystic isle, amid an emerald sea,
Celtic lovers sealed souls with flesh.
So close were they, that they shared one heart,
And together they shared each breath.

Beneath pale rays of the pagan moon,
On a bed of laurel and flowers,
A powerful union was blessed by the gods,
In the woods by Duanan towers.

As seed was planted in fertile womb,
Willows swayed in the soughing, spring breeze.
All forces of flora, gods, fauna, and Man,
Were absorbed and recorded in trees.

Thru’ out the ages, upon entering those woods,
When the moon was luminous and high,
If one stood still, by Duanan hill,
One could hear their lovers’ sigh.

On a mystic isle, amid an emerald sea,
Celtic lovers sealed souls with flesh.
So close were they, that they shared one heart,
And together they shared each breath.

~

Love is the unifying force which integrates
one’s soul with that of another.

I am intrigued as to where those "tattoos" might be?

You write from the heart dear Linda with the touch of the real romantic, sweet and tender and most enjoyable. Love you.

Dark Star ~

Your "tingles" just gave me tingles! Which brings to mind the Christmas carol ~ "Tingle bells! Tingle bells! Tingle all the way!" lol Please excuse my silliness! I'm a little bit 'punch drunk' from staying up so late last night!

I am probably rather antiquated in my thinking but, to me, a poem consists of  words for us to look at, to read, to savour, to interpret and - most importantly - to enjoy. Vocal or musical backgrounds only distract me,
So I read your poem several times over and enjoyed it over and over again.

TheAnonDavid ~

I go to monthly Open Mike poetry nights and some people are distracted by the music, as are you. However, there are others who prefer the addition of music. So.... I do a bit of both and that way I make everybody happy!

I have 42 of my audio poems posted at pip and have them also burned to CDs.

You having read my "poem several times over and enjoyed it over and over again." ~ was 'music' to my 'ears'! lol Thank you for 'saying' so!

Love & Celtic Light,
Linda
