He closes his eyes to swallow the pain
All emotion in winter slumber sleeps
For beauty he would not, could not profane
Her whom Aphrodite close to breast keeps
Sad how the most beautiful thing in flight
By a breath of the gods and of their wills
Transformed to a thing that fills all of sight
Hurts so much to look upon, that it kills
For to capture and hold her close he yearns
In a solemn prayerful voice he implores
For this thought and for her beauty he burns
His mind a sea of thoughts thus unexplored

Painful thoughts of her, she remains yet free
Wanting to touch, and yet not meant to be

I didn't know it was possible for pain to be written so beautifully... but this nose-pressed-to-window-of-a-room-without-doors yearn is pure bittersweet beauty.

Magnificent!!!

Let not your heart be broken, for love and time heals all wounds ....

A Beautiful expression of pain...

but sad that you are hurting so....

(seems you and I are going through the same, that is why I posted my last poem as well)

just a bad day for romantics, I guess...

Have you been rummaging around in my thoughts?
Beautifully done, Milady.

Yes, I like it very much those whisperings of inner struggles and mystic out of reach.

Very nicely done!

Your words are so tenderly painful I want to press them to my cheek.

Yo dear Chalmette Guy,

I don't know Hon.  Somehow this eluded me entirely.

Of course, I'm a little slow, all us city guys are.

Love Bobby

When she is ready, and if it is written in the stars, she will come to you...
You are an exceptionally fine, emotive writer!
