   Persistence of Memory

Here in time’s attic
so little remains,
save an old and dusty
   candle stub
which long since shed
its last wax tears
over photographs, fading
loves, and memories...
that shall remain forever
  young
as twilight apparitions
beyond every summer sunset,
spirit-dancing in the
evanescent moonlit shadows...
until they melt away once more
with each early morning mist.

It's not even a full moon, but that doesn't stop dancing romantic spirits!

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

Yes, persistence of memory, is very important.  Of course, as you grow older, it seems to be more (too?) important.

Nice poem.

Wish I had written these lines. Poetic gold.
